Sharing

So tomorrow is the big day. As me and Jacob walked down the streets of downtown Abilene together (haha downtown!) I couldn't help but be a little sad. The bond me and Jacob have from being together just the two of us is so great and I am thankful for that. I love hanging out with my little buddy and a part of me is afraid that when Daddy gets back he won't want Mommy anymore. So we had our time. We went to the bakery and picked up some cookies for Mommy's little cookie monster. And then we walked the streets window shopping. He helped me mow the grass when we got back so that it will look all nice for Daddy when he gets home TOMORROW!! So even though I am sad that this chapter is closing on me and Jacob's special time as the two musketeers, I look forward to having the three musketeers back together again. I know that I am very lucky to have a husband who likes spending his Friday and Saturday nights with the family instead of out with his friends drinking. I guess I will just have to learn to share my little monkey......

End of Deployment

4 more days until Wayne comes back!!

Wayne

So We have a little over a week left until Wayne will be home. I am so happy because Jacob is getting super clingy. He is on m like a spider monkey! =0) I don't mind except for the fact it doesn't give me a chance to really get done what I need to. I am trying to work with him on doing his own thing, like reading a book while I read my book. He has a dentist appointment today for a check-up/cleaning. He is very good about letting me brush his teeth and at school they brush his teeth for him after breakfast. We went to his new pediatrician last week and he got put on claritin for his allergies. Poor kid got my skin! He told me a couple days ago "Mommy I wanna go see Daddy" He used the full sentence just like that! His talking is becoming so advanced that he makes it known what he wants, when, where, and how! Next week when Wayne gets back we are going to paint Jacobs room and put up wall border and build Jacob's play set (finally!). I am sure Jacob will be excited about everything but probably mostly Wayne. I am sure he will be shy in the beginning since he really hasn't ever gotten to be around Wayne for a long period of time since Wayne is kinda in and out but I think it will change after a few days! For those who don't know the hectic schedule Wayne has had lately he left in July when Jacob was 4 months, came back that October, left again in March, came back that September and then left again in Feb. In between there he left 3 times for a week or so here and there for different missions. I think the poor man is getting used to living outta a suitcase! I think the worst was when he left right after Jacob's 1st birthday in March last year because he went from only being in our brand new house for 8 days to living in a small old dorm room! Don't feel too bad though because he got out of a lot of unpacking!! Our lives are busy and hectic and hard but I wouldn't trade it for anything. We are truly blessed and the luckiest people on Earth. If I ever seem cranky though please excuse it! Mama can only take so much of that Elmo song and there is no escape! (FYI Elmo now lives on the dresser and I tell Jacob everyday Elmo is going night-night! Once the song gets outta my head I will resurrect Elmo. Possibly when Daddy gets back I will turn Elmo on and leave for a long weekend...LOL...payback!

Anytime I find a day is getting especially hard Jacob seems to know and throws his little arms around me and gives me a great big kiss. He makes everyday sweeter even with his sometimes sour attitude. Nobody is perfect, everybody has bad days and the same goes for him. I don't expect him to be filled with sunshine all day everyday. Sometimes we all just wake up in a poor mood and want to take it out on everybody else. Poor Miss Kitty pays the price sometimes. Jacob sat on her the other day. Like he was going to ride her, one leg on each side. Miss Kitty allowed this to happen and I have to laugh at her passive aggressive personality. Later that day Jacob was sitting in his chair next to my bed and Miss Kitty was under the bed. Well she would run up swap Jacob and then retreat back under the bed. He was whining and I didn't realize what happened because I didn't see Miss Kitty. He said "kitty bite!" Well I watched and she did it again! It was sooo funny! She thinks she is being sneaky and that Jacob doesn't know who is swapping him but he is aware! Gotta love that Kitten! Well TTFN!

Deployment

For Father's day I bought Wayne a new grill! Well I guess I shouldn't say new grill since we don't have one right now! I bought the Weber Genesis 310! I am really excited about it because it comes in a few different colors and I got it in green which is both Wayne and Jacob's favorite color! Now I am just waiting for him to get back here and fix us some dinner =0) We have like 20 days left! THAT'S IT! I can't believe the deployment is already over, although it feels like he left forever ago. The amount of new things that Jacob is doing is just outstanding. When Wayne left Jacob had just gotten his trike and really couldn't pedal, now he is a PRO! Wayne left Jacob was 1 now he is 2! Jacob was peeing in the potty but only before bath time, now he uses it all the time! And lets talk about the talking! This kid talks up a storm! I am sad Wayne has missed so much of Jacob's life but I know that they will pick right back up again. Jacob talks about his Daddy a lot and looks at pictures and videos with him. It helps when we can web cam because then he sees Daddy and can interact. Well TTFN(love you daddy!) I better get back to cleaning (ugh!)

Jacob's Progress

So today I had a meeting with Jacob's teacher to talk about how he is doing. Everything is going very well, he is a few months ahead in most things. Then she dropped the bomb on me...she wants to try big boy underwear, like real underwear! We just go into pullups a month ago and I don't think I am ready! She thinks it will be the final push to get him totally potty trained. I think I might try post-poning it until Daddy gets home (less then 4 weeks!!!) but maybe this weekend we will go pick some out. He seems to like the spoungebob guy that is on his sippy cup so maybe we will find some of those! Jacob is such a smart little boy and talks ALOT (like Mother like son!) He is a tad bit spoiled but with those sweet blue eyes how can anyone say no to him! Although I enjoy how close we are and the special bond we have I am super excited for our family of 2 to return to a family of 3 (4 if you count Miss Kitty!). I have been practicing his favorite cake so when he comes back I can surprise him. I also want to get a grill and surprise him with that too. Well I will keep in touch!!

The damage

My clutzy accident

So last night I went to reach for a water bottle I dropped on the floor and BAM! I hit my night stand. It had me laid out on the floor crying. I called my uber supportive Dad who wanted me to call 9-11. This is becoming a recurring theme for our late night phone calls. Well I finally went to the doctor after my BFF Rob told me the cut would leave a scar and I was sent to get a CT-scan. Well all is fine, I do have a brain (just not always there!) and I did not do any real damage except to my ego. I think now is a good time to put reflective material all over the house so I won't have any more incidents. The best part of the whole ordeal is that Jacob is giving Mommy a lot of kisses on my "boo boo" and Rob allowed me to drink a diet coke (I am giving it up and he is the diet coke Nazi) as long as I went to the doctor. I guess bribes work for adults too! Well night night and I hope you enjoy the pic!
